About Coach Kelly

My love for running started back in college. My first race was a half marathon my junior year which ended in a DNF and a trip to the University of Chicago hospital via ambulance. That is never how I envisioned my career beginning, but when I was out running a week later, I knew I was hooked. I know what it’s like to experience defeat or a setback and not let it define you. I got back on the trail, and a year later completed my first Chicago Marathon as a senior in college. Since that first marathon in 2001, I have run 65, with 28 BQ’s, and a personal best of 3:11:17 set in 2022. I am an aspiring 50 state marathoner (run a marathon in every state: have 48 done!) as well as an aspiring 6 star finisher (through the Abbot World Marathon Majors) and have completed the 3 US world majors and 2 International majors. I am a Level II RRCA certified running coach and am able to bring my knowledge of my 20+ year long running career as well as my coaching experience with me to help you be the best athlete you can be!
